On this Second Sunday of Lent the scripture for today describes Jesus' lenten journey as a pressure filled mission, facing opposition by those he is trying to help, and with a deadline for completion of his task. Does this sound like a typical day for a modern enterprise...for Jesus the "pressure" comes from warnings of that old fox Herod's desire to kill him there in Galilee...the mission is to "cast out demons and heal people"...the journey will take him from Galilee to Jerusalem, a city known for killing the prophets and messengers sent by God, yet one whose people, God's children, are so dear to Jesus...but Jesus knows he will accomplish his purpose on the third day...
