Second Sunday after Pentecost

On this Second Sunday after Pentecost the message today reminds us that Jesus chose
his disciples from among the least in their world, to spread the gospel message to a
world that was alien to theirs...going from the fringe to the fringes...of society. Perhaps
being "On the Fringe" may be where we're supposed to be.
The worship services provided in outline form each week by the UMC Discipleship Ministries
and placed on the Resource Page of these online services will have the overall theme of
"The Path of the Disciple" during this long "Season after Pentecost". They may
help us in understanding and responding to the call to discipleship in Jesus' "Great
Commission".
Wednesday is "Flag Day" on the civil calendar...the Resource Page has more about the

We are also having a service at 11:00 this morning in Bethel's sanctuary.
For those unable to attend the services at the church, a new service will be available here online
before 10:00 am each Sunday morning, using the same format as the on-site service. So you may
"gather" here for an "Early Service" at 10:00 or the traditional service at 11:00...actually it
will be available here at any time all week. We hope that you will find it a refreshing place to
come into God's house.
