Worship Service Suggestions
The information provided each week by the UMC Discipleship Ministries for a worship service within a Worship Series include:In addition there may be Hymns Considered For this Week that provide Lyrics and Accompaniments for selected Hymns. These are provided by the person preparing Bethel's resource page.
- Worship Series - a brief description of the full series of services with a link to the UDM site for the series;
- Liturgical Resources - a link to some materials for providing spoken or responsive readings that create the worship setting for this session's service;
- Worship Planning Notes - a link to a description of this session's purpose;
- Preaching Notes - a link to an offered "message" for this session's service;
- Lectionary Scriptures - links to scripture passages that are part of the Revised Common Letionary scriptures for this day;
- Suggested Hymns - a link to a list of suggested hymns from our hymnals for each of the Lectionary Scriptures;
- Music Notes - suggestions for particular hymns or special music for the Worship Series and for this particular worship session.
For your personal worship experience you may just read the description of This Service's Theme and read the Message in the Preaching Notes...and perhaps make use of one of the Hymns Considered, if there are any. Or you may want to look into the Liturgical Resources and Worship Planning Notes to enhance your own preparation for worship.
