This 14th Sunday After Pentecost brings us to the first Sunday after Labor Day. Since 1978 this has been designated on the secular calendar as Grandparent's Day. For Bethel, this Sunday has additional significance for our Charge Conference, the annual gathering of Local UMC church leader's to report information about the past year and present information for the Annual Conference about the coming year in the local church. The District Superintendent, Wayne Wiatt, will conduct this meeting after the covered-dish Fellowship dinner following today's church service.
Pastor Ralph will also share below some memories and thoughts about September 11, 2001 on this anniversary date.
